BC Data Connections

This subpage appears on the Agent Card when BC data access is enabled for the agent.

Page type: ListPart (embedded subpage) Source table: Agent Data Source Object: Page 72778312 "SA Agent Data Sources Sub QUA"Page.72778312.SAAgentDataSourcesSub.al

This subpage appears on the Agent Card when BC data access is enabled for the agent. Each row links the agent to one tool configuration — a named set of BC objects (API pages, web services, tables, reports) the agent can access. You can add multiple rows to give the agent access to several tool configurations at once. The Usage description on each row is injected into the agent's system prompt so the AI knows when to use that connection.

In plain terms

This is the bridge between an agent and its data: it's where you attach one or more tool configurations (the AI's permission sets) to this specific agent. Switching on the BC Data Access capability opens the door; this page decides exactly what's behind it.

It works like assigning permission sets to a user: the tool configuration defines the access, and adding it here grants that access to one agent. You can attach several (e.g. read-only finance data and sales write access on the same agent).

The Usage note on each row matters more than it looks: it's a sentence telling the AI when to use that connection, like a tooltip guiding the agent to the right data. Write it clearly — "Use for customer balances and overdue amounts."

How to open it

  • Embedded on the Agent CardBC Data Connections tab. It is not available as a standalone page.

Notes

  • When you select a Tool Configuration, the connection's company and environment are automatically set to the current session's company and environment.
  • Disabling a row (Enabled = off) prevents the agent from using that connection without deleting the row.
  • Multiple rows let one agent access data from different tool configurations — for example, one configuration for read-only finance data and another for sales write access.
